Tinted Windows 2nd Album In The Works?

Supergroup Tinted Windows may gather to record a second album in the near future. The band – Cheap Trick’s Bun E Carlos, Hanson’s Taylor Hanson, A Perfect Circle’s James Iha and Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger – released their first record in 2009, and only scheduling issues have stopped them taking the project further.
Schlesinger says: “I think everybody would like to do it again. Taylor’s the hardest one to pin down because the Hanson guys work pretty much non-stop. If we can get everyone to commit to a week or two somewhere maybe we can get another record made.” -Billboard

Punk Globe: You have achieved every teenage girl’s dream and played with Taylor Hanson, can we expect another album from Tinted Windows?

Bun E Carlos: I don’t know, I hear from Taylor once and a while. I think Adam is in Japan with Fountains right now, touring their record. Hanson was touring their record. It is fun to go back a cut some more tunes because you know it’s a great album. Playing in a band with Taylor was quite the experience, I got to hear tones of screaming girls (I hadn’t heard that in a while), and Taylor he’s a great singer. Tinted Windows was the best album I’ve made in the last ten years.

Fountains of Wayne's Schlesinger: 'There's Interest' in New Tinted Windows Music
As for Schlesinger's other bands, Ivy is on hold while he's focusing on Fountains of Wayne, while Tinted Windows -- an all-star project with Taylor Hanson, Cheap Trick's Bun E. Carlos and former Smashing Pumpkins and current A Perfect Circle guitarist James Iha -- remains in amicable limbo since its 2009 debut album.
"I think everybody would like to do it again," Schlesinger says. "Everybody's gone off and gotten involved in other things at the moment. James has a new solo record ('Look to the Sky,' in Japan). Taylor is probably the hardest one to pin down 'cause the Hanson guys work pretty much non-stop. But I think there's interest. I have some more songs I've finished that I've been sitting on. It all happens pretty quickly; if we can get everyone to commit to a week or two somewhere, maybe we can get another record made."

In the meantime, Schlesinger was involved in outside projects, like writing songs for the Broadway musical “Cry Baby,” and creating the side project Tinted Windows with Taylor Hanson (of Hanson) and James Iha (of Smashing Pumpkins).
He says Tinted Windows may yet play and record again, if the time is right.
